American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
Summary
Weatherization: To date 64 homes funded through ARRA Weatherization funding have been completed and 104 homes through non-ARRA Weatherization funding have been completed. This increase in funding and production bring benefits to the Agency's service area.
Community Block Grant: The American Recover and Reinvestment Act funding throught the Community Service Block Grant has allowed the Agency to employ and place over 50 youth from Ford, Iroquois and Vermilion counties in summer employment. ARRA funding also permitted two additional Agency staff to be employed providing CSBG serivices.
Second Chance: The Community Service Block Grant through ARRA will fund Second Chance to provide first-time offenders with job placement and retention.
Head Start: Through current ARRA funding through Head Start the Agency is able to initiate many projects including Program Improvement Funds, Head Start Expansion Grant and Early Head Start Expansion Grant.
